The failed portion of the Asaba-Ughelli road has been fixed and normal free flow of traffic restored.
The road, which caved in on Monday following the overwhelming pressure of the Obo river on a temporary channel created for it by the contractors handling the dualization of the road to enable them commence work on the bridge across the river, was fixed this morning after the firm worked all through the night on the bad spot.
Works Commissioner, Mr Noel Omordon, who was there to see things for himself, thanked the contracting firm for the commitment to fixing the failed spot and apologized to those who suffered inconveniences as a result of the challenge.
