Veteran Nollywood actor, Obinna Nwafor, popularly known as Saint Obi is dead.

The talented thespian passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2023, in Jos, Plateau state at the age of 57 after a protracted illness.

Report said the actor died in his sister’s home in Jos where he recently relocated to.

According to sources, disagreement between his siblings was the reason his death took almost a week to be made public.

The real cause of his demise has not been made known at the time of this report.

Meanwhile, his remains were said to have been deposited at the Jos University Teaching Hospital, JUTH, morgue.

A graduate of Theatre Art, University of Jos, Saint Obi who, in addition to acting, was a Film Producer and Film Director, joined the movie industry in 1996 and until his death had starred in over 60 movies, including Candle Light, Sakobi, Goodbye Tomorrow, Heart of Gold, Festival of Fire, Executive Crime and Last Party.

He produced his first movie, Take Me To Maama, in 2001 where he starred alongside Ebi Sam, Rachel Oniga, Nse Abel and Enebeli Elebuwa.
