INC CONGRATULATES OBOREVWORI, URGES HIM TO CARRY IJAW COMMUNITIES IN DELTA ALONG ON ASSUMPTION OF DUTY

The foremost sociocultural organisation of the Ijaw ethnic nationality, worldwide, the Ijaw National Congress (INC), has formally congratulated Delta State Governor-elect, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, on his victory in the March 18 Governorship election.

INC, in a congratulatory message to the Governor-elect, signed by the National Publicity Secretary of the organization, Engr Ezonebi Oyakemeagbegha, noted that he had distinguished himself as a Legislator and an outstanding leader, which had led to the stability of the State Legislature where he had been the Presiding Officer for the past six years. 

The group stated that it was not in doubt about Oborevwori’s ability to pilot the affairs of the state and to continue from where the outgoing Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, would stop as it eagerly awaited his inauguration as the next Governor of Delta state come May 29, 2023.

The Ijaw foremost body, however, stated that the Governor-elect’s victory was not without the support of the Ijaw nation of Delta state as was evident in the results from the Ijaw communities in the state and urged him to carry such communities along in terms of infrastructural development and political appointment.

INC assured the incoming Governor of continued support and cooperation as he prepared to assume duty in Osadebe House, Asaba, just as the group prayed for a seamless transition of power to the Governor-elect so that Deltans could benefit from the MORE Agenda of his administration.
