The Delta North Senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the February 25 election, Prince Ned Nwoko, has said the winning team of the party can only be effective in office if elected 5/5.
Ned, at the Delta NUJ Platform for candidates of the various political parties in Asaba, likened governance to a football team, where the players could only do well on the pitch with proper blending and understanding of one another.
He explained that if elected Senator, it would be difficult for him to perform in a situation where the President or the Delta State Governor were of different political parties, adding that the Governor could also be frustrated by a President elected on the platform of an opposition party.
The Senatorial candidate, therefore, appealed to Deltans, and indeed Nigerians, to vote for candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party in order to rescue, rebuilt and reset Nigeria from the extensive damage done to the country by the APC-led federal government.
The former member of the House of Representatives, who represented the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, said, if given the mandate, he would utilize his legislative experience to give Delta North an effective and efficient representation that would impact positively on the lives of the people.
He pointed out that he was not campaigning for himself alone, but for all other candidates of the party, because PDP believed in working as a team to be able to achieve the desired result at the polls and translate same to good governance when sworn in to office.
Ned commended Journalists in the state for the good work they were doing and for creating “the Platform” to interact with candidates of the various political parties, with a view to helping the electorate to make informed choices in the elections
In his remarks, the Chairman, Delta State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Comrade Michael Ikeogwu, said “the Platform” was designed to give equal opportunity to candidates of all the political parties to tell the electorate why they should be voted for in the elections and thanked Ned Nwoko for honouring the union’s invitation.
