The electoral fortunes of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ndokwa East local government area, dwindled considerably on Friday with the ditching of the party by the LGA executive and the entire party structure barely five weeks to the Presidential and National Assembly elections.

The opposition party leaders, moved with hundreds of other members of the party to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP,at an impressive ceremony in Aboh, headquarters of Ndokwa East local government.

Receiving the decampees, the State Chairman of PDP, Barr Kingsley Esiso, commended them for departing from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of light, saying that with the massive harvest of APC members, the party had been neutralized in Ndokwa East to pave way for a landslide victory for PDP candidates.

Barr Esiso said APC deserved to be shown the way out given the damage the party had done to every fabric of the nation, citing the poor state of the nation’s economy, with the resultant high rate of inflation on goods and services, rising insecurity in the land, poverty, hardship and disunity among Nigerians.

He said it was only the Atiku/Okowa ticket of the PDP that could rescue, reset and build a new Nigeria where there would be economic emancipation and a one united Nigeria state.

The State PDP Chairman urged the former Ndokwa East APC Chairman, Mr Austin Ogbolu, Mr Ijoma Ebifa and others to work hard to win more members to PDP to ensure total victory for the party in all the elections.

Speaking at the event, the State Deputy Governorship candidate of PDP, Sir Monday Onyeme, said PDP was the only known party in Delta state and calling on the people Ndokwa nation to vote five over five in all elections.

Other party leaders who spoke, including the Delta North PDP Chairman, Elder Moses Iduh, former Commissioner for Works, Omordi George Ugboma, Commissioner for Higher education, Dr Kingsley Ashibuogwu, and Ndokwa East PDP Chairman, Chief Vincent Osilonya, welcome the decampees to the PDP, expressing optimism that with them and more defectors to come, victory was sure for PDP in the elections.

For his part, the Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency House of Representatives candidate of the party, Hon NnandI Ezechi, thanked the decampees for collapsing the APC structure to the PDP, assuring them of a better representation of the Ndokwa nation if elected to the National Assembly.

Hon Ezechi commended the State Governor and Vice Presidential candidate of PDP, Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa, for providing visionary leadership in the governnace of the state, which earned him the position of Vice Presidential candidate of the party.

The one-time DESOPADEC Commissioner and former Executive Assistant to the Governor on Youth Development noted that Governor Okowa had brought unprecedented infrastructural and human capital development to the state and urged Deltans to vote for PDP in all the elections.

Hon Ezechi was also at PDP ward 10, Obiaruku, in Ukwuani local government area, where he joined the Commissioner for Finance, Chief Fidelis Tilije, to receive more decampees of the APC and APGA  in their hundreds to the PDP.
