The Spiritual Director of the Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Rev Fr. Ejike Mbaka, is back from the Monastery after eight months suspension.
His return on Wednesday was greeted with excitement as hundreds of Catholics trooped to the Adoration ground, Enugu, to catch a glimpse of the fiery Priest and welcome him back.
Recall that the Adoration Ministry was closed down early 2022 and on June 3 of that year the Catholic Diocese of Enugu banned Mbaka from commenting on political issues after suspending activities in the Ministry.
Upon reopening, the Diocese turned the Ministry to a Chaplaincy, with the Priest still in charge, to monitor its excesses.
Mbaka, however, violated the political neutrality directive of the Diocese by allegedly launching a verbal attack on the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi, whom he was said to have labelled a stingy man.
The condemnation that trailed the said comment compelled the Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Most Rev Callistus Onaga, to transfer Mbaka from the Chaplaincy to the Monastery in October, 2022 and replaced him with Rev Fr Anthony Amadi.
