The Dada Okonji-led Oshimili South Local Government Area executive of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has been commended for the successful hosting of the State Governorship campaign of the party.

A chieftain of the party and Executive Assistant to the Governor on Political Matters, Hon Taju Isichei, popularly called IKUKU, who gave the commendation in a statement in Asaba, said the large turn out of party faithful and supporters for the rally at the Oshimili South Arcade, was indicative of proper planning and coordination by the LGA PDP executive.

Isichei noted that the EXCO, under Dada Okonji’s watch, had done a lot to ensure cohesion and oneness of purpose in the Oshimili South PDP, pointing out that the way the party handled post House of Assembly primary election issues was satisfactory to the losers, which made them to resolve to support the winner and candidate of the party, Barr Bridget Anyafulu.

The Governor’s aide said the success of the Governorship campaign rally in Oshimili South was largely attributable to the confidence of the people in the PDP, pointing out that Governor Okowa, who is the leader of the party in the state, had given the party a good ground to market its candidates by excelling in the implementation of the people-oriented policies and programmes of his administration.

The EA to the Governor stated that the Sheriff/Onyeme Governorship ticket was the best for the state as the duo were trusted men with the capacity to raise the bar of development in the state from where Governor Okowa would stop on May 29.

Isichei appealed to PDP members and supporters in Oshimili South to continue to reach out to eligible voters in the area so that victory for the party in the elections would not only be sure, but overwhelming.
