The Igwe of Okpai Kingdom, in Ndokwa East local government area, HRM Goldring Ugbome 11, has expressed confidence that the Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency PDP House of Representatives candidate for next year’s election, Hon Nnamdi Ezechi, is in the race for the good of Okpai people and the Ndokwa nation in general.

Speaking when Ezechi visited him in his palace, Igwe Ugbome said the emergence of the House of Representatives candidate was divine, adding that God had chosen him at this time in history to bring good tidings to the people of Okpai and change the trajectory of neglect of the oil bearing community.

The monarch thanked the State Governor and Vice Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator (Dr.) ifeanyi Okowa and the PDP family in the state for their huge support for Ezechi, whom he identified as one of the illustrious sons of Okpai Kingdom.

Ezechi’s royal endorsement was witnessed by a delegation of Okpai elites, led by the Deputy National President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Odoziobodo of Okpai Kingdom, Chief Amechi Asugwuni and the Nze-Obi of Okpai Kingdom, Chief Solomon Ugbome.

Chief Asugwuni said victory for Ezechi in the forthcoming election was very important to the people of Okpai and urged all sons and daughters of the Kingdom to take his delivery seriously because he had always been a team player with an enviable track record of performance in public office. 

Other speakers included the Ugo-Enyi of Okpai Kingdom, Chief Gavin Ugbome, Mr Obi Okwuezolu, Okpai SEEPCO Committee Chairman, Mr Sam Chuks Egwu, Okpai Agip Committee Chairman, Mr Favour Okeleke and Okpai Youth President, Comrade Anene Opute.

They all praised Ezechi’s antecedents and appealed to Ndokwa people to vote massively for him and other PDP candidates, including Atiku/Okowa, Sheriff/Onyeme, Ned Nwoko and Emeka Osamuta.

In his remarks, Ezechi thanked God for giving Okpai a great king, whose reign had impacted positively on the community.

He applauded Igwe Goldring Ugbome, Okpai elites, women, youths and indeed the entire Okpai Kingdom for the confidence and trust reposed in him and promised not to fail them.

Ezechi specially thanked Governor Okowa and the state leadership of the PDP for their support, as well as the PDP delegates whom God used to nominate him at the May 22, 2022 party primaries at Utagba-Uno.
