Youths of Asaba, the capital city of Delta state, have been urged to sustain their peaceful disposition which has engendered growth and development in the town since the state was created.
The President General of the Asaba Community Youth Council, (ACYC) Ogbueshi Obodo Okediachi, made the call in his Christmas message to the youths.
Okediachi noted that Asaba youths had never been known to be violent, adding that they were not criminally minded, as their sound upbringing had remained their guiding principle.
The ACYC PG reminded the youths about the forthcoming general election, urging them not to allow themselves to be used by mischief makers and selfish politicians to foment trouble before, during and after the election.
He commended the Asagba of Asaba, Professor Chike Edozien and the Asagba – in – Council for the cordial relationship between them and ACYC, which had helped to enhance the efficiency of the group in handling youth related matters, particularly community policing and project monitoring.
The Youth Leader promised that ACYC under his watch would continue to carry the youths along in the scheme of things, while respecting the views and opinions of the elders in moving the community forward.
Okediachi wished all Asaba youths at home and abroad a merry Christmas, a happy and prosperous new year.
