In the spirit of the yuletide, bags of rice were on Wednesday distributed to Aniocha South Council staff, courtesy of the Chairman, Hon. Pastor Jude Chukwunwike.
Chukwunwike, who came to power in March 2021, had chosen to make the end of year gifts for staff a tradition, as he did last year, to break the jinx of over 15 year the staff enjoyed such a gesture.

This year’s package went beyond the expectations of many considering the additional provision of chicken for the festive season.
Shortly after receiving her bag of rice, Head of Environmental Department, Mrs Roseline Igbodo, described the gesture as an unprecedented civil service jinx breaker.

She described the Council boss as a leader who matched word with prompt action, noting that he had done more than his contemporaries by giving every member of staff cause to be happy this Christmas season.
“When we heard that the Chairman, through the Department of Agriculture, was rearing poultry, we thought the birds would be sold to us at subsided rates, but to our greatest surprise, we got chicken for free, we got rice and extra money to cook this Christmas.

“He will go higher. We pray that one day he will become the Governor of Delta State, the HoD prayed.
Mrs. Mudama Stella Nkechi of the Administration Department commended Chukwunwike, stressing that the exercise was not just people-oriented, but a lasting imprint of kindness to civil servants of Aniocha South extraction.
The host of beneficiaries prayed God to continue to sustain the Council Chairman for his magnanimity.
