Aniocha South Local Government of Delta state has continued with the renovation and upgrade of offices as part of measures to inspire increased productivity among the staff.
Speaking during an inspection of the renovation work, the Chairman of the Local Government, Hon. Pastor Jude Chukwunwike, urged the contractor to expedite action and ensure that the work was completed before the end of the year.
“A work environment can either inspire or demoralize a worker; I have worked in this Council as a member of staff. Now that it has pleased God to raise me up as Council Chairman, I must as a matter of honour attend to the needs of staff”, he said, while explaining his decision to embark on a comprehensive renovation of the Council offices.
On how it feels to be able to give attention to staff needs despite the reality of adverse economic situation, the council boss said: “A satisfactory work environment is not a luxury; it’s a necessity for increased productivity. I’m grateful that this is happening under my watch”.
