Members of the Delta Grassroots Network, DGN, have been charged to get more involved in the electioneering campaigns of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state.

The Founder of the group, Hon Chuks Asuai, who gave the charge during a meeting of the body in Asaba, said having been accredited by the State PDP Campaign Council as one the support groups for the 2023 general elections, it behoved every member of the group to show greater commitment to canvassing support for the party and its candidates.

Hon Asuai expressed confidence that the group would benefit from the reward system of the party when the Sheriff administration would have been in place in the state, assuring the members that the past experiences were gone for good.

He explained that the State PDP Campaign Council had insisted on results from the support groups and urged DGN members in the 25 local government areas to join the ward to ward campaign train of the party across the three senatorial districts of the state.

Speaking on behalf of Delta South the group’s Secretary, Comrade Charles Brisibe, revealed that more youths from the riverine areas, including the Ijaw and Itsekiri axis, had joined the group in their large numbers to canvass support for PDP candidates in next year’s polls.

Also speaking, the Woman Leader of the group, Ogboru Marilyn, assured the PDP that the group had penetrated Delta Central and was sure of victory for the party’s candidates in the senatorial district.
