The Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for the 2023 general election in Delta state, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, on Thursday formally presented himself for the race at a world press conference held at the party’s campaign office in Asaba
On the occasion, Omo-Agege, representing Delta Central and Deputy President of the Senate, said he was not just his party’s candidate, but also the bearer of the hopes and aspirations of the people of Delta state.

He stated that he was in the race because of his dissatisfaction with the state of affairs in Delta, revealing that his policy document would form the plank to bind the people together to build a vibrant, equitable and prosperous Delta, based on core values of service, hard work and shared sacrifice, where every Deltan would have the opportunity to achieve his or her full potential.
The APC Governorship hopeful explained that his presentation at the press conference marked the beginning of a historic journey committed to the hands of God for direction, strength, guidance and wisdom, adding that the journey was for the good of the generality of the people of Delta state.

The Deputy Senate President maintained that his aspiration was beyond an ordinary quest for power, insisting that it was a movement to liberate, rebuild and reinvigorate Delta state, which ought to be a leading light in the Niger Delta region and Nigeria as a whole
Omo-Agege regrettably alleged that Delta had been left behind in key development indices despite the huge sums of money the state had received and internally generated over the past seven years, further alleging that the Debt Management Office (DMO) records showed that Delta had the second highest debt profile in the country.

He said having served as Commissioner, Secretary to the State Government, Senator and currently Deputy Senate President, he was roundly abreast of the issues of governance, promising that he would bring his executive and legislative experiences to bear in his plans for Deltans if elected Governor in 2023.
The APC Governorship candidate disclosed that he worked with the best team of experts to come up with realistic policies and plans that would get Delta state going in the right direction again, pointing out that the party’s 60-page manifesto revolved around the EDGE to build a new Delta.

Omo-Agege explained that the EDGE Agenda of Employment and Empowerment; Development (Economic, Infrastructural and Industrial); Good Governance, and Enduring Peace and Security, covered critical areas of governance and urged Deltans to vote massively for the APC in 2023.
