The leader of PDP ward 11, in Oshimili South local government area of Delta state, Engr. Smart Meka, has called on members of the ward to take the ongoing electioneering campaigns seriously to guarantee overwhelming victory for all the party’s candidates in the 2023 general elections.
Engr Meka, a Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Project Monitoring, who made the call at an enlarged meeting of the ward in Asaba, noted that though the ward had always performed well in previous elections, it would not be out of place to do better in the forthcoming election.
He said the party’s candidates, including Atiku Abubakar, with Senator (Dr ) Ifeanyi Okowa as running mate; Sheriff/Onyeme for the Governorship of Delta, Prince Ned Nwoko, Rt. Hon Ndudi Elumelu and Barr Bridget Anyafulu must be supported to win their elections and urged his ward members to vote massively for them.
The party leader commended the cells for the success of their meetings, pointing out that similar meetings would also hold in all units of the ward before the visit of the LGA Campaign Council early December.
Engr Meka pledged to appreciate the unit that would record the highest number of votes in the election with a cash gift of N500,000, the first runner up N300,000 and the second runner up N200,000.
Other speakers, including the LGA PDP Chairman, Ogbueshi Dada Okonji; the Ward Chairman, Hon Afam Uzor; the Chairman, Delta State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Awulu Tukur and the Ward Woman Leader, Mrs Helen Otakpor, called on party faithful to be more committed to prosecuting the elections, as nothing short of the best was good for the ward.
