Aniocha South Local Government of Delta state has pledged continued collaboration with the judiciary to quicken the dispensation of justice.
The Executive Chairman of the Council, Hon. Jude Chukwunwike, made the pledge on Tuesday at the commissioning of the newly built Aniocha South Customary Court in Ogwashi-Uku.
Chukwunwike said the building, an initiative of the President, Customary Court of Appeal, Asaba, Hon. Justice Patience Elumeze, was an opportunity for the people to get their rights protected through quick and affordable access to justice.
“This building will go further to help our people to access justice faster. I am happy that the project started and ended successfully. It’s important to note that Justice Elumeze has shown a character that is worthy of commendation in every sphere of life.
“When we go through life, we should be conscious of one thing; what we will be remembered for. This building is something that the people will always remember her for”, Chukwunwike said.
In her remarks, Justice Elumeze thanked the Council Chairman for providing the land for the construction of the court house.
“Thank you, Mr. Chairman, for all the support and the encouragement that played a major role in ensuring that we completed this project”, she said.
