The Chairman of the Oshimili South local government area chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Delta state, Ogbueshi Dada Okonji, has said the Supreme Court judgement in favour of the party’s governorship candidate for the 2023 general election, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, did not come as a surprise.
Ogbueshi Okonji, in a congratulatory message to Oborevwori, who is also the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, said the case had been won from the very beginning because the voice of the PDP family members in Delta state, who chose him to be their governorship candidate, represented the voice of God.
The LGA party Chairman noted that both the party primaries and the legal process were family affairs, stressing that it was high time the family forged ahead with the electioneering campaigns to guaranty victory for the party.
He thanked the five-man panel of Justices of the Supreme Court which ruled on the case, saying that their verdict was in tandem with the collective wish and desire of the people of Delta state, who were looking up to Oborevwori to continue from where Okowa would stop for the greater good of the state.
Ogbueshi Okonji called on members of the PDP in Oshimili South to brace up for the state elections campaign soon to be flagged off, insisting that the party’s governorship candidate must be delivered with overwhelming votes.
