FLOOD: CHUKWUNWIKE VISITS EWULU DISPLACED PERSONS’ CAMP, URGES VICTIMS NOT TO DESPAIR

The Executive Chairman of Aniocha South Local Governnent, Hon (Pastor) Jude Chukwunwike, has visited displaced flood victims at the Ewulu camp with a message of hope to mitigate their pains in the present circumstance they have found themselves.

Addressing the flood victims, Pastor Chukwunwike encouraged them not to despair as God would always provide for His people in times of need, as was the case with them for no fault of theirs.

He said it was unfortunate that the victims had been forced out of their ancestral homes by the ravaging flood, which also destroyed their farms, thereby making them refugees in their own land.

While assuring the displaced persons that the State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, was on top of the situation, having set up the State Flood Disaster Management Committee to collaborate with the relevant agencies to cushion the effect of the flooding on the people.

Pastor Chukwunwike, who was accompanied by his wife, Ella; the Vice Chairman of the Council, Hon. Amaka Adigwe; Councilors, among others, stated that adversity showed followers how concerned leadership could be and made a presentation of food items and  toiletries. 

“I feel your pain and that is why I chose to be here myself without having to delegate the visit. Our Governor, Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa, is doing a lot to make sure that the suffering of the people as a result of this year’s flood is ameliorated.  

“We are grateful to God that no life has been lost. Since there is life, there is hope. This is a trying time but it’s not all gloomy. We can from it learn to plan ahead, doing those things that support mutual well-being for every citizen”, Chukwunwike added.
