In the face of the festering internal crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a chieftain of the party, Senator Binos Yaroe has come out in defense of its presidential flag bearer, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
Speaking during an interview on VIABLE TV, the Lawmaker, who is representing Adamawa South senatorial district in the 9th National Assembly, argued that since primaries were held in the country, no politician had reached out to party stakeholders the way Atiku Abubakar has done.
He added that what was now happening in the party was a clear case of one being able to force a horse to the stream but not being able to force It to drink water.
Senator Yaroe accused the warring faction of the PDP of attempting to blackmail the party’s flag bearer into doing what was not right by forcing Senator Iyorchia Ayu to resign from his position as National Chairman.
The lawmaker insisted that this was not the first time the PDP would have northerners occupy the positions of National Chairman and presidential flag bearer, pointing out that in 2007, the late Alhaji Shehu Musa Yar’Adua, and Colonel Ahmadu Ali were both elected to those positions.
