Ahead of the 2023 elections, the National Atikulate Movement 4 Emancipation – NAME has urged the people of Lagos State to be prepared to rescue their state from the grip of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu.

The Founder and National Chairman of the Movement, Adm. Tola O. Ajimisogbe, made the call while addressing separate meetings of the Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and the state’s executive of the support group.

Ajimisogbe, who was accompanied by the South West zonal Coordinator of the group, Mrs Iwalola Anifowoso and the Lagos State coordinator,. Mrs Adenekan Ibukunola, among others, regretted that Lagos had for a long time been colonized by one individual, who had diverted the commonwealth of the state to his personal bank accounts, stressing that Lagosians should realize that the state belonged to them and not any individual.

He called on members of the group to massively mobilize support for the presidential candidate of the PDP, and Waziri of Adamawa, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, whom he said had the requisite experience and capacity to address the myriad of challenges facing the country.

The Atikulate Movement Chairman affirmed that the rescue mission of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was a national cause, which every Nigerian should be committed to, and urged members of the group to take the campaign for the sacking of APC from the presidency seriously.
While admitting that Tinubu was a force to reckon with in Lagos, Ajimisogbe maintained that it was high time the politics of godfatherism, which had done Lagosians and the people of other South West States no good, was brought to an end.

On the possibility of Peter Obi of the Labour Party posing a threat to Atiku’s chances of winning the presidential election, the Atikulate Movement helmsman emphasized that having a political structure was key to winning elections, adding that Peter Obi’s supporters would deplete before and during the election.
He said the group had established presence in all the states of the federation to mobilize support for Atiku Abubakar and would stop at nothing to ensure the realization of the goal.

Present at the meeting were the Lagos Secretary of the PDP, Barr Williams, the Youth Leader, Mr, Olagunji, Toyin Adewumi, Ogunbayo Destiny, Philip Omotayo and Mrs Bose Ahmed, all of NAME, among others.
