DELTA NOA HOLDS SENSITIZATION CAMPAIGN TO PROMOTE PATRONAGE OF MADE IN NIGERIA GOODS, SERVICES

A sensitization program on ‘Patronize Made In Nigeria Goods and Services’, organized by the Delta State Directorate of the National Orientation Agency, NOA, under its ‘Change Begins With Me’ campaign, took place in Asaba on Thursday with a roadshow.

The event, which was in collaboration with the Delta State Ministry of Trade and Investment, and the Asaba Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, ASACCIMA, took the sensitization team through the popular Nnebisi/Okpanam road distributing flyers and stickers to members of the public, with a stop over at the Ogbeogonogo market for an advocacy campaign. 

Speaking on the objective of the campaign, the Delta State Acting State Director of the National Orientation Agency, NOA, Mr. Chris Anyabuine, said the exercise, which also took place simultaneously across the country, was part of the agency’s mandate to positively change attitudes, values and behaviours Nigerians towards achieving the socioeconomic development of the nation.

Anyabuine explained that it was imperative that people patronized made in Nigeria goods and services in order to boost the nation’s Gross Domestic Product, GDP, stop capital flight, create employment, raise the value of the naira, among other benefits.

The campaign, he added, was also designed to encourage Deltans to invest in cottage industries to strengthen the economic base of the state and by extension the nation.

The NOA State Director listed the strategies being adopted to achieve greater results in the campaign to include, motorized street to street campaign, advocacy to target groups such as markets, churches, passengers at motor parks,media/social media campaign,roundtable with small scale business owners to discuss challenges and the way forward.

Speaking on the occasion, the Director of Commerce, Delta State Ministry of Trade and Investment, Mr. Felix Oseji, called on citizens to patronize made in Nigeria products and services as it would help the nigerian brands to steadily improve in quality to emerge among the best brands in the world, as well as help the state to build a strong and virile economy. 

He pledged the Ministry’s continued support for trade and investment development in the state. 

On his part, the representative of ASACCIMA, while also calling on Nigerians to patronize made in Nigeria goods and services,  commended NOA for putting the campaign together.
