A female politician of Delta state origin and Canada based Professor of Education, Benedicta Egbo, has declared her intension to contest the 2023 presidential election on the platform of the Nigerian Rescue Movement (NRM).

Making the declaration today in Asaba, Professor Egbo said Nigeria, a blessed country, had been taken back to its dark days by leaders who promised the citizens better deals, but ended up taking them to the pit of hell through high level of corruption, insecurity and ineptitude.

She, however, noted that Nigeria remained a blessed country in desperate need of good leadership, stressing that the desired President of Nigeria should be highly principled and grounded in competence, with a sound knowledge base, selfless, patriotic and visionary in handling the affairs of the nation.

Prof Egbo announced her five point agenda as Economic Recovery , Growth and Development; Rule of Law, Justice, Equity, Fairness and National Unity; Peace and Security; Strengthening of Institutions; and Education Sector Transformation and appealed to Nigeria to give her the opportunity to be the country’s next President come 2023.

Earlier, the State Chairman of the party, Mr. Emmanuel America, reiterated that Nigeria was in dire need of good leaders at all levels of governance, stating that the Nigerian Rescue Movement (NRM) had come to salvage the worsening socioeconomic situation in the country.

He described Prof Benedicta Egbo as a woman with a sound knowledge and competence to rescue Nigeria from bad leadership and lead the citizens to the promised land and solicited support for the presidential aspirant.
