Frontline Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) aspirant for the Oshimili South constituency seat in the Delta State House of Assembly, Honourable Taju Isichei, on Sunday gave a good account of himself during an interactive session with the Asaba Development Union (ADU) at Ogwa-Ukwu Ahaba, in the state capital.
Hon. Isichei, also known as IKUKU, who took time to present his well articulated manifesto to the union executives, co – aspirants and a cross section of people of Oshimili South, took them through memory lane of his unbeatable standard stating categorically his numerous contributions and impact made from community development, education, neighborhood security, scholarship to indigent students, among others.
He decried the dilapidated state of the union’s secretariat, which was flooded with rain water and generally looking unkept, and promised to give the structure a facelift to bring it to the standard deserving of the union’s status, if given the mandate to represent the Oshimili South constituency come 2023.
The aspirant said he had always been passionate about the well-being of the people, adding that being the representative of the constituency in the State Legislature would further spur him to expand the scope of his people – oriented activities through quality and timely legislations.
Some of those present took time to evaluate Isichei’s commitment to quality leadership and commended his laudable vision and past contributions to humanity, especially the people of Oshimili South.
Other aspirants who spoke about their aspirations included Ejike Nwokolo, Mr Ikechukwu Maduemezia and Mrs Bridget Anyafulu, while Hon. Charles Obi and Hon.Shedrack Rapu were absent.
Asaba Development Union (ADU), a none political organization established to administer the development of Asaba, is currently interfacing with other stakeholders to determine who becomes the next person to represent the Oshimili South constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly come 2023.
Commending the aspirants for honouring the union’s invitation, the President General of the Asaba Development Union and Okilolo of Asaba, Professor Epiphany Azinge (SAN) said though the interactive session was coming rather behind schedule, it was to ensure that the union played a pivotal role in the politics of the community going forward.
At the session, Honourable Taju Isichei was given a standing ovation an unprecedented recognition considering his past contributions to humanity, community and social participations in what concerned the people.
He was also rated high in accessibility and friendly disposition, among others, an indication that he should be encouraged to continue his good works for the people.
