The commissioning of Ralph Uwechue road, off Okpanam road, Asaba, on Friday by the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Dr. Iyorcha Ayu, has been described as another milestone for the Okowa administration in road development.
The Chairman, Oshimili South Local Government Area chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Ogbueshi Dada Okonji, who made the remark in an interview with newsmen after the inauguration of the strategic road, by the popular Akpu junction, said Asaba and the environs had never had it so good in terms of link roads.
Dada Okonji noted that all the streets in the Government Reservation Area (GRA) had been linked to smooth motorable roads and drains, thereby quickening the expansion and development of the State Capital Territory, while all the internal roads in the heart of Asaba had virtually been resurfaced to enhance vehicular movement.
The LGA PDP Chairman stated that the Okowa administration would beyond its tenure be remembered for the unprecedented attention given to the development of the State Capital Territory, especially Asaba, insisting that Okowa had done quite well in the provision of infrastructure.
He commended the National Chairman of the PDP, Dr. Iyorcha Ayu, for doing the state the honour of coming to commission the road project, saying that from his remarks it was obvious that Delta was the pride of PDP largely because of the brilliant performance of Governor Okowa.
Dada Okonji urged Deltans to follow the direction of the Governor on the issue of his successor as that was the only way to sustain the tempo of development in the state beyond 2023.
