The Ijaw National Congress (INC) has condoled the family of a foremost Ijaw leader and elder statesman, Chief S.Y. Mamamu, who died in the early hours of Thursday, 9th September, 2021.
In a condolence message on Friday, on behalf of the National Executive Council (NEC) and Congress, the President of the group, Prof. Benjamin Okaba, described the death of Chief Mamamu as a monumental loss to the entire Ijaw Nation.
In the message, signed by the National Publicity Secretary, Engr. Ezonebi Oyakemeagbegha, INC noted that Chief Mamamu had over the years tirelessly championed the liberation of the Ijaw people.
The group sympathised with the bereaved family and prayed the good Lord who willed the departure to grant the family, friends and the entire Ijaw Nation the fortitude to bear the loss.
