The 2021 Dr. Sam Epelle Memorial Gold Paper Lecture, an Annual Lecture Series of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), hosted by the Delta State chapter of the Institute, has ended with a dinner for the national officers and members of the body from across the country.

The event took place in Asaba at the official residence of the Secretary to the Delta State Government (SSG), Chief Patrick Ukah, who is also the State Chairman of the Institute.

It was attended by the President and Chairman, Governing Council of the Institute, Mallam Mukhtar Sirajo; Prof. Emmanuel Dandaura of the Education Advisory Board, the Chairman, National Planning Committee, Dr. Ike Neliaku; the Chairman, Local Organising Committee, Elder Emmanuel Ogidi; the State Vice Chairman, Mr. Godfrey Osakwe, among other members.

Also in attendance were the State Commissioner for Finance, Chief Fidelis Okenmo Tilije; the Senior Economic Adviser to the Governor, Dr. Kingsley Emu; Hon. Taleb Tebite, Hon. Paul Okpue, Chief Moses Iduh, Comrade Samuel Dietake, Chief Steve Eruotor and Hon. Uche Osadebe.

Two personalities, Elder Emmanuel Ogidi and Chief Patrick Ukah, were honoured with awards for their contributions to the successful hosting of the Annual Lecture and Investiture of the State Governor, Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa, as a Patron of the Institute.

The no-speech-making night featured old school tunes, by a live band, that sounded well, allured and enchanted the ear, releasing all present from the tyranny of conscious thought.

Edo-born stand up comedian, Frank De Done, was also on hand to treat the gathering to rib- racking jokes.
