Mrs Ejiroghene Jacdonmi has been invested the 13th Chairman of Asaba and District Society of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), with a call on women to assume positions of relevance in critical sectors of the economy.
Her investiture, which took place in Asaba, attracted stakeholders and personalities from across Delta State and beyond, including the National President of ICAN, Mrs. Comfort Eyitayo, the Vice Chancellor of Delta State University (DELSU), Prof Andy Egwunyenga, and Delta State Head of Service, Mr. Reginald Bayoko, among others.

On her part, the National President of ICAN, Mrs Comfort Eyitayo, represented by Mr Sylvester Nwanna, congratulated Mrs. Jacdonmi on her investiture, pointing out that her chairmanship coincided with the rising profile of women in critical sectors of the economy.
While noting that the development reflected Nigeria’s commitment to the Affirmative Action, Eyitayo called for more women inclusiveness and involvement in the nation’s political, economic, social and other facets of national life.
In her acceptance speech, Mrs. Jacdonmi, elected on May 27, 2021, promised that her administration would consolidate past successes, correct previous flaws, and achieve greater feats, while anchoring her target on four pillars.
‘’As executives, our leadership will not be based on authority but on influence to inspire you to dream more, learn more, do more and become more relevant in the system. Thus, we will be goal-oriented and innovative, providing a platform for sharing ideas that work in order to take our profession to the enviable height where it belongs’’, Jacdonmi said.
Earlier the immediate past Chairman of Asaba and District Society of ICAN, Sir Cosmas Onyenaju, stressed that he was fulfilled to have been succeeded by Mrs. Jacdonmi, whom he said had been groomed for the task in the next two years.
The Chairman, Planning Committee for the event, Mr. Daniel Odeh, noted that the new Chairman of Asaba and District Society of ICAN had become responsible for all that concerned the Institute upon her investiture, and wished her well in her endeavors.
