Delta Commissioner for Primary Education, Hon Chika Ossai, has said the Okowa administration will continue to invest in infrastructural and human capital development in the state.
Chika Ossai stated this while speaking to newsman on the developmental strides of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa in the past six years.
The Education Commissioner, who described the Governor as a harvester of projects, noted that his administration had done well in road construction and rehabilitation, healthcare delivery and other people-orientated projects across the state.
He recalled the sorry state of primary schools across the state before the inception of the Okowa administration, pointing out that the Governor’s decision to create a separate Ministry for Primary Education was suggestive of his determination to accord that level of education the attention it deserved.
Chika Ossai, who had previously served as Commissioner, Bureau of Special Duties, Ministry of Lands, Surveys and Urban Development, as well as Commerce and Industry, assured that primary schoils in the state would soon begin to feel the impact of the new Ministry, while the welfare of teaching and non teaching staff in the primary school system would receive due attention.
He charged the teachers to be dedicated to their duties as the era of laxity and dereliction of duty was gone, promising to initiate programmes that would help to improve their teaching skills and efficiency.
