The Delta State Chairman of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Prince Henry Eze, has hailed the recent High Court judgement which vindicated foremost Delta industrialist and leading 2023 governorship aspirant in the state, Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi, of a controversial smear campaign suit against him.

The suit, which was filed by three hirelings; Precious, Gloria and Archibong, claiming 3 billion naira each as compensatory damages, was thrown out by the trial Judge, Justice Dolor of the Effurun High Court, who also strongly reprimanded the plaintiffs for malicious and fraudulent forgeries.

In a statement, Prince Eze, who is also the spokesperson of the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP), Delta State chapter, advised the claimants to immediately tender unreserved public apology to Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi for falsely accusing him.

He further noted that this was not the first time persons who felt intimidated by Gbagi’s rising political profile and pedigree would sponsor smear campaigns against him and urged those eying the  Delta State governorship seat to go about their quest with utmost civility and decorum rather than attempt to drag the name of Kenneth Gbagi in the mud.

Delta CUPP image maker affirmed that elections were not won in the courts, by resorting to blackmails and in the media, but in the electoral field, stating that at the appropriate time the electorate would assess the aspirants based on their individual merits and make their choice.

Prince Eze use the medium to inform all the 2023 governorship aspirants in Delta State to make available copies of their profile, credentials, CVs, as CUPP would soon be showcasing them on National dailies for Deltans to evaluate and make their choice.

He urged Olorogun Gbagi not to be deterred or distracted by serial blackmailers, but to remain focused on his plans to transform Delta state from its current state to that of an industrialized giant in the West African sub-region and Africa, South of the Sahara.
