A former Special Adviser to a Delta State Governor, Prince Uzoma Idaboh, has commended the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency for living up to its mandate to give Asaba, the state capital, a new look.

Uz, who was speaking to newsmen at the venue for a birthday party for the Director General of the Agency, Hon (Evang) Onyemaechi Mrakpor, said it required a strong political will to achieve what the Agency did to get rid of shanties and illegal structures that lined up the streets of Asaba.

The politician cum business mogul particularly commended Hon Mrakpor for being firm, focused and result – oriented in the discharge of her duties, describing her as a disciplined and no nonsense woman.

Uz, who owns NELROSE Hotel, Asaba, said the establishment of the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency was a major achievement of the Okowa administration as Asaba and the environs were badly defaced with unkept undeveloped plots of land, shanties and illegal structures, particularly on the major roads.

He said although the activities of the Agency brought pains and frustrations to owners of the demolished structures, such situations were not unexpected because there was hardly any gain without pain.
