Executive Assistant to the Governor (Special Duties) Girl Child Empowerment Office, Barr. Bridget Anyafulu, has applauded Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for prioritizing gender related issues.
Anyafulu, in a congratulatory message to the Governor on his 62nd birth anniversary, noted that no administration in the state had given attention to the well-being of the Girl Child than the Okowa administration.
She said the creation of the Girl Child Empowerment Office was instructive of a leader with respect for womanhood and Girl Child development, pointing out that the office had impacted positively on the life of the Girl Child through aggressive enlightenment programmes on the Child Right law, which the Governor had vowed must be implemented to the latter because “every child in the state counts”.
The EA expressed optimism that the remaining two years of the Okowa administration would witness more capacity building programmes for the Girl Child, stressing that the future of the Girl Child in Delta was now secured under the Okowa administration.
Anyafulu used the opportunity to thank the Governor for appointing five women into his cabinet, and for several other female appointments, including the 17 elected female Vice Chairmen of Local Government Councils and many female Councillors and prayed God to grant him more eventful years of life, good health and the capacity to continue with his good works for the overall good of Deltans.
She congratulated the Governor on the auspicious occasion of his birth anniversary and wished him all the best.
