Immediate past Delta Commissioner for Housing, Chief Festus Ochonogor, has called on the people of Ndokwa nation to sink their differences and join forces to strengthen peaceful coexistence between them.

Ochonogor made the call on Thursday in Asaba at a reception organized for guests who attended his inauguration as Commissioner and member of the State Executive Council by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.

He said Ndokwa people were known to be peaceful, resourceful and focused on achieving common goals, stressing that primordial issues should not be allowed to tear the ethnic nationality apart.

The Commissioner said the area had never been as favoured by government as was the case at present, noting that Governor Okowa had shown deep interest in infrastructural development of Ndokwa nation and had appointed many indigenes of the Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency into positions of authority in the past six years of his administration.

While soliciting greater support for Senator Okowa, Ochonogor thanked the Governor for reappointing him as Commissioner and member of the State Executive Council, promising to justify the confidence reposed in him and to be a good ambassador of the Ndokwa nation.

He paid tribute to members of Ndokwa Stakeholders Forum, the Ndokwa Neku Union, political and community leaders and the youth for their individual and collective contributions to peace and progress in Ndokwa land,
