One of the newly sworn-in Commissioners and member of the Delta State Executive Council, Dr Barry Pere Gbe, has said the economic policies of the Okowa administration will be strengthened to further promote economic growth in all sectors of the state.
Speaking shortly after he and 17 others were sworn – in by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Dr Gbe said prudent management of scarce resources remained the secret of the success story of Okowa led government in the state.
The erstwhile Commissioner for Economic Planning stated that the main thrust of the Okowa administration had always been directed towards enhancing the economic fortunes of the people.
Dr Gbe, an economist, explained that the various empowerment and wealth creation programmes of the state government had helped in raising the quality of life of the people of the state.
He said more efforts would be made in that regards in line with global economic realities.
While commending the visionary leadership of Senator Okowa, Dr Gbe stated that the Governor had never relented in giving the right direction to governance.
The reappointed Commissioner appreciated another opportunity given to him to serve and promised to remain focused on government’s vision of a Stronger Delta, even as he admitted that there was still room for improvement.
Dr Gbe noted that driving the economic growth of the state government towards achieving the Stronger Delta agenda of Governor Okowa required the support of all stakeholders and solicited the understanding of Deltans in that regard.
