The second quarter general meeting of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures in Nigeria, holds in Asaba, the Delta State Capital from Friday 25th to Sunday 27th June, 2021.
The Chairman, Planning Committee for the hosting of the Conference in Delta State and Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon Ochor Christopher Ochor, said the event would be in five segments, including the opening session, the technical session, conference general meeting, projects inspection and banquet.
He said the Speakers would be led to the state for the event by the Chairman, Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures in Nigeria, Hon Abubarkar Suleiman.
Ochor stated that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa would be Special Guest of Honor at the event, while the Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Sherrif Oborevwori, who is the Deputy National Chairman, Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures in Nigeria, is the host.
The Deputy Speaker stated that all arrangement for a successful hosting of the Presiding Officers of the State Legislatures had been made, and commended the state Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, for making Delta conducive to hosting of big events.
He added that this was the first time Delta State would be hosting the Conference of Speakers which testified of a strong synergy between the Okowa administration and the Delta State House of Assembly led by Hon Sheriff Oborevwori.
Ochor paid glowing tribute to the Speaker for his ability to draw his colleagues across the federation to Delta State for the second quarter general meeting.
The Planning Committee Chairman, who disclosed that the Speakers would arrive on Friday and depart on Sunday, wished the visiting Presiding Officers of the State Houses of Assembly a happy stay in Delta State.
