The Secretary to the Delta State Government (SSG), Chief Patrick Ukah, has charged civil servants in the state to ensure that they keep their work environment clean at all times.
The SSG gave the charge on Tuesday when he paid an unscheduled visit to the Cabinet Office Complex in Asaba, where he frowned at the filthy environment of the office which played host to many visitors, describing the condition of the complex as an embarrassment to the state government.
Chief Ukah noted that keeping the office complex clean was also for the good of the workers as it would prevent reptiles and rodents from entering the offices.
He instructed the Director Cabinet Matters to ensure that by Friday this week the complex would have been cleaned up as he would be paying another visit to the complex to verify.
The Director Cabinet Matters, Mr. Shedrak Ekpekurede, who took the SSG around the complex, assured him that the complex would be cleaned up before his next visit.
