45 Fulani men have reportedly besieged the Okitipupa Council Area of Ondo state for an unspecified reason.

The northerners, who were allegedly brought into the community in a truck on Thursday night, were sighted by residents, who were visibly agitated by their suspicious presence.

Leaders of the community promptly alerted the Council Chairman, Igbekele Akinrinwa and the state security outfit, Amotekun who rounded the Fulanis up and prevented them from entering the community.

Akinrinwa said it was a native of the town that facilitated the northerners’ trip to the community, pointing out that the said person had been arrested.

He pleaded with the people to remain calm as the visitors would be moved to Akure for proper security check and investigation.
