DELTA GOVT COMMENDS NDOKWA YOUTHS FOR PEACEFUL DISPOSITION

Delta State Governnent has commended the youth of Ndokwa Nation for contributing to the success of the Okowa administration through their peaceful disposition.

The State Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. Ifeanyi Egwunyenga, gave the commendation at Okpai Oluchi, in Ndokwa East, at a one – day workshop organized for Ndokwa youths by Ikolobie Ndokwa and sponsored by Executive Assistant to the Governor on Youth Development, Honourable Nnamdi Ezechi.

Egwunyenga noted that Ndokwa youths were known for their peaceful approach to issues, even in the face of provocations, saying that it spoke volume of their strong character and quality leadership.

He maintained that the workshop was a reflection of the unity, common purpose and mutual understanding that existed between Ndokwa youths, describing the sponsor of the programme, Honourable Nnamdi Ezechi, as an active, vibrant and focused Governor’s aide.

The Commissioner assured Ndokwa youths that the Okowa administration would continue to pursue programmes generally aimed at building the capacity of youths in the state and urged them to remain peaceful and  supportive of government policies and programmes.

In his remarks, the Special Guest of Honour on the occasion, Sir Monday Onyeme, noted that the workshop was to brainstorm on how Ndokwa youths could harness their strength and capacity to assist governnent in creating opportunities and effectively delivering the dividends of democracy through good governance.

Onyeme, who is the Chairman, Delta State Internal Revenue Service, urged the participants to take the workshop seriously as the outcome could advance the cause of the Ndokwa ethnic nationality and make it more relevant to the system.

Also speaking, the sponsor of the event and Executive Assistant to the Governor on Youth Development, Honourable Nnamdi Ezechi, said the workshop, with the theme: “Ikolobie Ndokwa Partnering With Governor Ifeanyi OKowa To Advance Quality Leadership And Good Governance”, was suggestive of the readiness of Ndokwa youths to work with the Okowa administration to ensure the realization of set goals.

Ezechi urged all politicians and leaders in Ndokwa land, particularly in Ndokwa East, to close ranks and contribute to the success of the Okowa administration, as well as assist in meaningfully engaging the youth, as the task should not be left for governnent alone.

Earlier, the President General of Ikolobie Ndokwa, Comrade Anslem Nzete, noted that some politicians in the area had not faired well in youth development and urged Ndokwa youths to be more actively involved in the politics of 2023 to avoid the mistakes of the past.

The event featured a lecture on the theme of the workshop by a Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Development, Dr. Kingsley Ashibuogwu and the presentation of an Award of Appreciation to Sir Monday Onyeme.
