The Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja 11, has urged the National President of Traders and Market Leaders Associatiion of Nigeria, Honourable (Barr) Chinwe Monu – Olarewaju, to see her appointment to the exhalted position as a call to service and use it to contribute to peace building at this critical time in the history of the nation
Oba Ogunwusi, who made the call in his palace at Ile – Ife, Osun state, when the new Iyaloja of Nigeria visited him with members of her executive, said for her administration to make the desired impact, she should accord priority to women empowerment in order to uplift the living standard of Nigerian women.
The highly revered Ife monarch expresed confidence in the ability of Honourable Olarewaju to succeed in her new assignment having served as a member of the Delta State House of Assembly, Commissioner for Commerce and Industry in Delta, and a Council Chairman and congratulated her on her well deserved appointment.
While saying that Olarewaju’s position as Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Association of Ex – Local Governnent Chairmen in Nigeria was an added advantage, the Ooni assured the Traders and Market Leaders Association of Nigeria of the cooperation and support of his palace in achieving set goals.
Earlier, in her speech, Honourable Olarewaju appreciated the Ooni of Ife for his royal reception and blessings and assured him that the new executive, under her watch, would make a difference in the life of Nigerian traders and market leaders.
The Iyaloja of Nigeria said the visit was crucial because she and members of her team needed the wise counsel of Oba Ogunwusi, adding that tapping from his wealth of experience as a custodian of culture would be of immense benefit to the association.
She promised to key into the Federal Government’s programmes aimed at uplifting and empowering Nigerian women.
