The Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Delta State, Honourable Chika Ossai, was treated to s surprise package on Wednesday (today) by staff of his ministry to commemorate his birth anniversary.

The event brought together the management team of the ministry made up of the Permanent Secretary and directors of the various departments, some other members of staff, and personal aides of the Commissioner.

The PS, Mr, Ebipade Aloba and others who spoke on the occasion, described Chika Ossai as a visionary leader whose stint in the Ministry had impacted positively on the lives of staff, adding that the reforms he came with had taken the Trade and Investment Ministry to a higher pedestal in the scheme of things.

They wished the Commissioner well on his birthday and prayed God to bless him with long life, good health, strength and will to break new grounds in the Ministry and all other endeavors.

Responding, the Commissioner thanked the staff of his Ministry and Personal aides for making his birthday a memorable one, stressing that though he was surprised, he believed in the capacity of the staff to do great things.

Chika Ossai commended the management team and staff for their continued support and promised to give the right direction to the Ministry with a view to ensuring job satisfaction for staff and the attainment of set goals.

The Commissioner later cut his birthday cake and received gifts.

The staff of the Ministry also organized a send off party for the Permanent Secretary, Mr Ebipade Aloba, who will be retiring from service on Friday, October 16, 2020.

The Commissioner, Honourable Chika Ossai, described the PS as a thorough bred and meticulous public officer, whose wealth of experience contributed greatly to the successes achieved by the Ministry.

Others who spoke poured encomiums on the retiring Permanent Secretary, whom they said was like a father to all irrespective of status and prayed God to grant him a healthy and peaceful retirement life.

Responding, Mr. Aloba said he enjoyed a harmonious working relationship with the management and staff of the Ministry, pointing out that he would miss their warmth and supportive disposition.

The occasion featured presentation of gifts.
