The Forum of Non Sitting Members of the Delta State House of Assembly has visited the Ebonka family of Agbor to commiserate with them over the death of the first elected Deputy Governor of Delta State, Evangelist Simeom Ebonka.
The Chairman of the Forum and pioneer Majority Leader of the State Assembly, Honourable (Chief) Aneke Ifemeni, who led other former State Legislators on the condolence visit on Tuesday, described the late Simeon Ebonka as a complete gentleman whose loyalty to his boss, Olorogun Felix Ibru of blessed memory knew no bounds.
Honourable Ifemeni noted that the late former Deputy Governor gave his best in ensuring stability in governance through cordial relationship with his boss, stressing that the standard he set as the state’s second citizen had remained a reference point for his successors.
The former Majority Leader said the role played the deceased in ensuring the growth of the People’s Democratic Party went a long way in enhancing the electoral fortunes of the party.
Ogbuiji Ifemeni prayed God to grant the soul of the departed eternal rest and urged the family to take heart.
Responding on behalf of the bereaved family, the first daughter of the deceased’s,, Nneka Ebonka, thanked the former Lawmakers for sharing in the grief of the family, describing the death of their father as a huge loss.
On the entourage were the pioneer Speaker of the Assembly, Honourable Emmanuel Okoro, former Acting Governor of the State, Honourable Sam Obi, former SSG, Honourable Festus Agas, Senior Political Adviser to the Governor, Honourable Funkekeme Solomon, Honourable Abel Oshevire, Honourable Eric Orusaibogha, Honourable Chugaby Onwuka and Honourable Emmanuel Nwaebo.
