The victory of Godwin Obaseki of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Saturday’s governorship election in Edo State has been described as the people’s revolution against the injustice the Governor suffered in the hands of his former party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Chairman, Delta north senatorial district chapter of the People’s Democratic Party, Mr. Moses Iduh, stated this in Asaba, while speaking on the re – election of Obaseki for another four – year term.
Iduh noted that what played out in Obaseki’s case was God’s own way of liberating the people of Edo from the selfishness, greed, injustice and the resultant retrogression they had been subjected to by some politicians who constantly undermined their electoral value.
While saying that the case of Edo was democracy in action, the Delta north PDP Chairman commended the people of Edo for standing up for their right to choose who should govern them against all odds, stressing that they had affirmed that the ‘ Voice of the People is the Voice of God ‘.
He congratulated Governor Obaseki, the people of Edo and the PDP family on the resounding victory, just as he congratulated Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on the feat made possible in his time as Chairman of the South South Governors’ Forum.
