The Special Adviser to the Delta State Governor on Project Implementation and Evaluation, Honourable (Prince) Johnson Erijo, has described the re – election of Godwin Obaseki on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) as home coming for Edo State.
Honourable Erijo, while reacting to the victory of Obaseki in Saturday’s governorship election, noted that Edo was the only state in the South South region controlled by the APC, a situation he said distanced the state from her sister states in the oil rich region.
He noted that Edo had been robbed of the unity of purpose which had been the driving force of the PDP Governors, adding that with Obaseki now in PDP, the future was bright for the state and its people.
The Special Adviser described the event that led to Obaseki joining the PDP as an act of God, assuring the people of Edo that they would be better for it.
Honourable Erijo thanked the people of Edo for choosing light over darkness, stressing that their past four years under the APC was obviously retrogressive and helpless to them due to the influence of some self serving politicians on the state.
He specially commended Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and the Chairman, PDP National Campaign Council for the Edo governorship election, Nyesom Wike of River State, for mobilizing support for Obaseki during the campaign period.
