The Publicity Secretary – elect in the inconclusive election of the Ijaw National Congress (INC), Engineer Oyakemeagbegha Ezonebi, has expressed shock at the passing of a former President of the body, Professor Kimse Okoko.

In a condolence message he issued in Asaba, Engineer Ezonebi described the death of the Emeritus Professor of Political Science as a huge loss to the Ijaw nation and the country at large.

He noted that the former Ijaw leader was a source of inspiration and a dependable mentor to the younger generation of Ijaws, saying that he gave purposeful leadership to the Ijaw National Congress when he served as President of the group.

Engineer Ezonebi said the demise of Professor Okoko, who was Pro – Chancellor, University of Uyo, was most regrettable considering the fact that he recently lost his son, Keniebi, who was a PDP governorship aspirant in Bayelea state.

The INC Publicity Secretary – elect commiserated with the immediate family of the deceased and the entire Ijaw nation, urging them to take solace in the fulfilled and impactful life the renowned Professor lived.

While saying that the deceased’s wise counsel and sense of direction would be greatly missed, Engineer Ezonebi prayed God to grant the soul of the departed eternal rest and the bereaved family the fortitude to bear the great loss.
