The State Police Command is currently investigating a foiled attempt by one Uche of Iselegu, in Ndokwa east local government area, to tarnish the image of the Special Anti Robbery Squard, SARS in Delta State.
The said Uche took advantage of the crisis between the Iselegu Community Development Committee (CDC) and the Okpala – Ukwu of the community, Chief Michael Oyem, to paint as false picture purporting that the Okpala – Ukwu was brutally beaten by SARS operatives over the matter, allegedly leaving him with injuries in the face which carried plasters.

However, the Commissioner of Police, Delta State Police Command, CP Hafiz Inuwa, on getting the report, became furious with SARS and directed that the Okpala – Ukwu be brought to the Police Headquarters in a bid to get to the root of the matter.
The CP was shocked to discover that there were no injuries in the old man’s face when the plasters were removed.

The Okpala – Ukwu told the CP that the said Uche was responsible for the plasters and had told him, during an interview, to claim that he was beaten up by SARS operatives.
Reacting to the development, CP Inuwa wondered why any sane man would want to drag the name of the police to the mud, even with the frantic efforts being made by the Police Authorities to enthrone a disciplined and highly professional force.
He said he would always vouch for SARS in Delta, describing the Officer – in – Charge of the unit, CSP Masoyi Dadi, as highly disciplined and religious.
