ANAMBRA POLICE COMMAND NABS COUPLE FOR SUSPECTED CHILD THEFT

The Anambra State Police Command has paraded a couple for allegedly stealing a child.

The couple, Mr.and Mrs.Nwobu, were arrested by operatives from the Ogidi Police Divisional in collaboration with the Nkpor Vigilante.

They were allegedly caught with a two year old boy who they initially claimed was their biological son but further investigation proved otherwise.

Briefing newsnen, the PPRO, Anambra State Police Command, SP Haruna Mohammed, advised Ndi Anambra to be wary of the rising cases of missing children in the state being pepertrated by child stealing syndicate.

He described child stealing as a crime against humanity and warned that anyone caught in the crime would face the wrath of the law.

SP Mohammed advised couples desirous of adopting children to go through the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs to legalize the process.

In an interview, the couple Mr. and Mrs. Nwobu, claimed that they adopted the child after seventeen years of childlessness, admitting, however, that  they did not follow the due process of adoption.
