Seven members of the same family, two housewives and five children, have reportedly died of food poisoning after eating corn meal at Auki village of Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The man of the house, who was away when the incident occurred, on hearing the news, developed a mental disorder.
The killer corn meal (Tuwon Masala) was said to have been prepared by one of the housewives.
The affected family members reportedly developed stomach pains after consuming the food, three died instantly and four others were pronounced dead at Bungudu General Hospital, Zamfara state.
The doctor on duty confirmed that the deceased died of food poisoning.
