The Special Adviser to the Delta State Governor on Project Implementation and Evaluation and Head of the State Project Monitoining Office, Honourable (Prince) Johnson Erijo, has described Saturday’s State Congress of the PDP as an affirmation that the party remains an indivisible family in Delta State.
Erijo, while speaking on the outcome of the Congress, said the peaceful atmosphere at the Congress venue shocked even the opposition political parties and critics who thought the exercise would divide to the house.
He said the State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, who is the leader of the party in the state, had left no one in doubt about his determination to unite all party faithful, irrespective of obvious differences as humans, for the greater good of the party.
The Special Adviser commended the Congress delegates for their understanding and peaceful conduct, noting that the watchful eyes of security operatives and officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) gave credibility to the entire process.
Erijo lauded the immediate past State Executive Committee of the party for delivering on its mandate, which saw the party overwhelm its opponents in the 2019 general election in the state.
He congratulated the new Exco members on their re – election and urged them to come up with fresh ideas that would boost the fortunes of the party beyond imagination in future elections.
The Special Adviser used the opportunity to assure the party and the state government that the Project Monitoining Office would, through its activities, boost the confidence of the people in the Okowa administration by insisting on value for money in the delivery of projects.
Erijo commended Governor Okowa for the recent release of Project Monitoining Vehicles to the Office, describing the gesture as a call to greater service.
