Members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta have been urged to use the just concluded State Congress of the party as an opportunity to close ranks for the overall good of the party.
The Chairman of the Oshimili South Local Government Area chapter of the party, Ogbueshi Dada Okonji, made the call in Asaba while speaking on the success of the Congress.
Dada Okonji said the unity of purpose demonstrated by the Congress delegates was a clear indication that the PDP had a lot to gain from consensus building, stressing that the 25 local government areas of the state were unanimous in the re – election of the immediate past State executive members.
He specially commended the State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, for his interest in the growth of the party through purposeful leadership, pointing out that the PDP in the state had become the envy of other political parties because of the unity and tranquillity that now reigned in the party.
The Oshimili South PDP Chairman said the re – election of the immediate past Exco members at the Congress was a well deserved reward for hard work, adding that the party under them made reasonable progress, particularly the overwhelming victory in the 2019 general election.
Dada Okonji congratulated the new executive and urged the re – elected officials to hit the ground running and further strengthen the party ahead of the 2021 local government election and the 2023 general election.
He pledged continued loyalty and support of the Oshimili South chapter for the State Executive Committee of the party and the Okowa administration.
