A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Aniocha south local government area, Chief Chris Agbobu, has commended the leader of the party in Delta and State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, for giving the party purposeful leadership and direction.

Chief Agbobu, a two – time Minister of State of the Federal Republic of Nigera, gave the commendation in Asaba on Saturday while speaking on the conduct of the Delta State Congress of the PDP.

The Onishe of Ubulu – Unor, who was one of the delegates from Aniocha south, said Senator Okowa had not only ensured that party discipline and internal democracy were maintained at all levels in the state, but had also as Governor worked hard to implement the party’s manifesto in the past five years of his administration.

He noted that the state leadership of the party under Chief Kingsley Esiso had done well, stressing that the resounding victory of the PDP in the 2019 elections and the peace and unity that had reigned in the party were enough attestations to the good performance of the State Exco.

Chief Agbobu hailed the peaceful conduct of the Congress, and particularly thanked the delegates for their orderliness during the exercise which saw to the return of all the immediate past party executive members.

The former Minister urged the new executive to leverage on the confidence reposed in it by party delegates by rededicating itself to further strengthening the party for greater exploits in next year’s local government election and more importantly the 2023 general elections.
