Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has congratulated renowned politician and statesman, Chief Ighoyota Amori, who turns 68 today, August 8.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Olisa Ifeajika, the Governor noted that Amori, an accomplished leader and Chairman, Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency, had contributed to the growth and unity of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and development of Delta.
He commended the gifted politician fondly called “Odidimadi’’ in political circle, for his keen efforts at bridge-building, and described him as a political strategist and leader with great passion for the development of his Urhobo people of Delta Central Senatorial District’.
Okowa recalled Amori’s contributions as Commissioner for Education; Water Resources; Senior Political Adviser, and later as Senator representing the people of Delta Central Senatorial District before his tenure was aborted by the court.
The Governor noted that as a staunch party leader, Amori had remained a respectable voice, bridge – builder, who should be appreciated for his consistency and loyalty to the PDP.
He prayed God to continue to protect the celebrant and grant him good health to render more services to mankind.
