Muslims in the country have been urged to shun acts capable of jeopardizing peace and national integration.
The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Honourable Sheriff Oborevwori, made the call in his Eid – el – Kabir message to Muslims in Delta State.
In the message, issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Dennis Otu, the Speaker felicitated with Islamic faithful and admonished them to imbibe the spirit of godliness, charity, perseverance and spiritual intercession for Nigeria in general and Delta State in particular as they celebrate Eid El- Kabir.
While wishing Muslim brothers and sisters happy celebration, the Speaker appealed to them not to relent in their prayers for total healing of the land of the deadly Covid 19 pandemic.
Oborevwori said they should observe the health protocols of social and physical distancing, wearing of facemask and regular handwashing with soap and running water, as prescribed by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and the state government.
